Road ~ Ride Holiday 2017
Diary – Part 9
Monday October 30/31

Fly Sydney
Everyone was up by 6.30am as 3 alarms had been set but we were all awake before they went off.
Everyone had a quick breakfast and all showered except Ken who had showered the night before.
The unit was cleaned, rubbish out and keys left as instructed. We were walking out the front door at 7.30am.
No complications with the Aerobus with the 35 minute drive having us to the Singapore Airlines check in third in line.
Quickest check in, security check and border security we have had on any trip.
It was just a matter of then waiting to board.
The flight from Barcelona to Singapore didn’t feel like the 11 hours it was, fed twice and watched a number of different movies and TV shows. Landed in Singapore it was steamy, had been raining and the outside temperature was 30 degrees and it was only 7.00am.
Layover here was 2hrs with the next leg to Sydney about 8 hrs.
Had a tail wing from Singapore so landed a little earlier than scheduled.
Looking at Australia from an aeroplane during the day is a sobering feeling, so big and so desolate across the middle, but still so beautiful!
The remains of old creek and river beds is spectacular as is the colour.
Made Sydney and appreciated the city lights from a different perspective as well. A great of the day/night to have picked to travel to see 'Home’.
Landed, no issues with border protection, automated system for returning Aussies is great. Collected luggage and said goodbye to John & Geri, they travel to Wollongong for a few days before heading home.
Great time to arrive to get a taxi as well, didn't need to line up in the 'cattle yards' - only 4 minutes $15 to the hotel. Shower and a sleep was what all of us were looking for - Home to Wagga tomorrow.
Great nine weeks, perfect weather, amazing places we visited and wonderful company.

Wednesday November 1

Fly to Wagga
Up before the alarm, showered, packed and ready to leave for the domestic terminal by 8.45am. Taxi to the domestic terminal took a while, morning Sydney traffic - $20.
Unfortunately he dropped us at T2 not T3 the QANTAS terminal so we had a small walk to get there. Check in and security was easy then Sumo Salad for breakfast - interesting that Sumo Salad do toasted sandwiches and coffee.
The flight from Wagga was on time so departure should be as scheduled.
Weather in Sydney was cool, only getting to 21 and Wagga was only going to be 23 degrees, so going home to nice weather. Paul & Beth being collected by Paul's Mum at 1.10pm and Paula & Ken by Edna, Paula's Mum at the same time.
Great 9 weeks away but also good to be home.
